Joost Lieuwma graduated in 2005 at the Utrecht School of Arts with his animated short 'Once upon a time in my wife'. Since then he is working as a freelance animator in Utrecht. 'How Dave and Emma got pregnant' is his second independent short after his graduation film.

BIOGRAPHY


After a master's degree and a postgraduate diploma in Film, Gérard Ollivier has participated in various short films and video reports as a sound engineer before specializing himself in filming music (performances, music videos). He then completed three short animated films: 100 Papers in volume (1998), Burger Burp’s & the Happy Farmer made in 2D paper cut (2001) and White Earthenware (2002), a project started several years earlier. Living in Marseille, he is working on a set of drawn travel diaries, slide shows devoted to his city. He also prepares an introductory workshop on animation for children.

Natalia Ryss lives and works in Rostov-on-Don. 1988–1995 - was studying the production design of animation film at All-Russian University of Cinematography in Moscow (VGIK), the workshop of S. Sokolov. 1997-1999 – was making the collages for "Chemistry and Life" Magazine. Natalia Ryss is also a painter whose paintings are kept in private collections of a lot of countries. Between making the films she takes part in different exhibitions.

Graduate of Paris Fine Arts, Cléo Biasini decided to turn to animation by choosing the Art Institute of Chicago, a school close to effusive comics that allowed her to take her first steps. Back in Paris, she keeps working on her techniques at the Decorative Arts School of Paris; meanwhile she starts cultivating the rough version style and gets closer to the Estonian school, whose exuberance she highly appreciates. After her stay in Tallinn, she comes back with a funny road movie «Kinobuss Parade» in which her antiheroine Eve Tougo makes her first appearance. At the present time, she works in her newest short film produced by Sacrebleu, where Eve initiates her path into the resistance, a passive one…

In a world where mistakes are unacceptable, everyone is trying to catch up with strict deadlines. The main character, a postman, is given the mission to hand in a letter in eight minutes. Along the way he has to make a choice between love and duty.
He lives brief moments of passion, defying the rules.
The rules are clear:
Everyone must travel alone on a UNICYCLE.
Every assignment must be accomplished within the DEADLINE.
Every inconsistency has severe CONSEQUENCES.

Zina Papadopoulou was born in Greece. She studied Graphic Design at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. 
She took her Master’s degree in Animation in the Utrecht School of the Arts, the Netherlands. She has many years working experience as a designer and animator in the Netherlands, UK and Greece. Currenlty, she works as an independent animator and director
Petros Papadopoulos is a Greek animator and Graphic Designer. He studied Technology of Graphic Arts at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. After finishing his MA in Digital Moving Image at the London Metropolitan University, he worked in the field of TV advertisement. At the moment he is doing a PHD research on “The role of graphic communication to people with special needs” at Cyprus University of Technology.

Regina Pessoa
Regina Pessoa nasceu em Coimbra em 1969 e licenciou-se em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, em 1998. Durante a frequência da licenciatura começa a trabalhar no estúdio Filmógrafo, onde colabora em vários projectos, entre os quais como animadora, nos filmes “Os Salteadores”, “Fado Lusitano” e “Clandestino” de Abi Feijó. Em 1999 anima e realiza a sua primeira curta-metragem de animação “A Noite”, em gravura sobre placas de gesso – uma técnica morosa e delicada que resulta numa plasticidade singular – que ganhou mais de uma dezena de prémios nacionais e internacionais. Em 2005, realiza o seu segundo filme “História Trágica com Final Feliz”, igualmente em gravura. Esta animação tornou-se numa das curtas-metragens portuguesas mais galardoadas de sempre com quase cinco dezenas de prémios e menções internacionais, entre os quais se destaca Prémio Cidade de Espinho e Alves Costa no CINANIMA (2005, Portugal), o Grande Prémio no Festival de Annecy (2006, França), o Prix à la Qualité do CNC (2006, França), e o Grande Prémio no SICAF (2006, Coreia do Sul).

Jérémy Clapin
Jérémy Clapin gets his degree in Paris ENSAD in 1999. He works since then in various fields: art direction, illustrator for editors and magazines, animator and independent director for commercials. In 2004, he directs his first animation short film, A Backbone Tale, which wins about 15 international awards. In 2008, Skhizein, his second film is nominated for the french CèSARS, short-listed for the OSCARS and wins more than 90 awards in festivals. Since then, he directs many commercials (SNCF,CITROEN), as wells as the Good vibrations short film for the ACME filmworks. In 2010, he joins PAPY3D Productions and direct Palmipedarium; his new film financed by Arte et and entirely made using Open Source software (Blender).

Irene Jihyun Kim is an animator and illustrator. Furthermore, it is also about magic and what makes a funny little story into a legend.

The movie deals with human trafficking by telling a story about a yellow blouse, which starts getting riddled from a little girl from Bangladesh and ends up in a woman's of European origins wardrobe, who fights for human rights. The irony is obvious and the underlying hidden messages vary.

Maria Kozari Mela graduated from the department of Graphic Design at TEI of Athens. Participated during 2010-2011 at the Erasmus programme, in Spain at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, in the department of Fine Arts.  She is working as an illustrator for Lykos magazine and has also launched her jewellery series called Keyboard Jewellery. Her ideas emerge from her passion about art, design, photography,traveling, fashion,comics,  animation, cinema and music. She has volunteered at Comicdom Con Athens 2012 as well as at Animasyros 5.0. She is currently working on a collaboration film project.

A true story based on a testimony of Holocaust survivor, the late Nomi Kapel. She has a naive and simple dream, to buy herself a pair of shoes. Nyosha believes that her shoes are the ones that convinced the Nazi soldier who held her, to spare her life. A range of animation techniques brings together dream and reality and tells her story.

Rory Waudby-Tolley is an animator from London. He studied Computer Animation and Visualisation at the National Centre of Computer Animation, Bournemouth University. His graduate film 'Merfolk' won Best Animation at Purbeck Film festival and has been screened at Interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival 2012. He recently won a competition to produce part of the music video for Deadmau5 and Imogen Heap's song 'Telemiscommunications'.

Stephanie Girard is currently an undergraduate animation student at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, graduating in May 2013. Previously, she earned a certificate in animation through the Rhode Island School of Design’s Young Artist Program and spent nine years training in various two dimensional media, such as oil paint, watercolor, colored pencil, charcoal, and pencil. Three of her short animation pieces have been featured in MassArt’s animation shows Squealing Pegs and Peggin’ Out. She has a passion for storytelling and spends most of her free time writing, and is heavily influenced by Disney animated feature films.

Yonni Aroussi, was born in Israel in 1978. A Jerusalem raised artist. Found his interests in drawing at a very early age. Enrolled to the Charles A Smith- high school of arts in Jerusalem, where he majored and in graduated Plastic arts. After his military service began his interest in photography, which led to several photography programs at the 'Camera Obscura' school of arts Tel Aviv and Musrara school of Photography, Jerusalem. Than Started a four year Animation Program at 'Bezalel Academy of art and design, Jerusalem.lately have been working as a 3d artist and Animator in Crew 972 on the new episode Warner Broher Looney tunes Coyote and RoadRunner. Currently working as a 3d artist in Playtech, gaming software company. Awards: 2006-2007 America-Israel (Sharet) Cultural Foundation Scholarship. Ben Genislaw Ben Genislaw was born in Israel 1977 and discovered his first interest in animation at the age of 25. Ben graduated the animation program at 'Bezalel Academy of art and design' in Jerusalem'. Today, he is a partner and the creative manager at 'Breeze Creative' studios. Throughout his work, Ben has directed dozens of movies and installations for educational and commercial purposes. Amongst his personal projects are live illustrations and animation work for orchestras such as –The Revolution Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion and the Israel Symphonietta Beer Sheva. Filmography: 'Musical Chairs' (2008) - A short 2D animated film, staring 5 unique silhouette characters. 'We Found Water' (2009) - A 15 minute historical tale, starring live actors and combining animated backgrounds.

A shepherdess and her herd of goats go about their daily life in the desert.  High above a vulture casts an ominous shadow as the flock slowly succumbs to the drought.  A distant city on the horizon promises salvation.  The shepherdess drives her goats straight into it, only to be plunged into despair with the loss of her shepherdess staff and the consequent dispersion of her herd into the spoils of the city.  Her only remaining goat, Hubeiza, accompanies her through this dark void attempting to reassemble the herd to emerge once again into the warmth of the burning desert sun.

Song E Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and now resides in Los Angeles. Her first film, Dinner Table, was featured at the Ottawa International Animation Festival, San Francisco International Animation Festival, Asian American International Film Festival and National Conference of the Association for Women in Psychology.  Also, it was received Best Animation awards at New Orleans Film Festivals and Big Muddy Film Festival.  Additionally, her work includes commercials for Reebok, OK GO's Last Leaf music video, Delta Goodrem's In This Life music video, and the documentary films Playground and Plastiki. She earned her MFA at California Institute of the Arts.

Annie’s day at The Library starts like any other, but the intriguing man who takes the seat opposite her encourages her thoughts to stray. Theo is equally distracted, not least by his books on the Renaissance nude, which set his mind – and pulse – racing. This 4-minute computer animation takes the viewer into their fantasies to share in what could happen if library etiquette is overridden by carnal urges.

WEZEN LEVENS, animated mini-series for [email protected] 24, a Dutch children's cable television channel. I was the creator, director and head-animator, 2011  Internship at GONZO ANIMATION STUDIO in Tokyo Japan, as an inbetweener and key animator, 2010 ANIMATED SHORTS:
ZEN ZEN WAKARANAI: NO IDEA, graduation animation. During its creation I collaborated with a team of pan-national artists. This included Japanese animators, artists and musicians I established relationships with while attending Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan, as an exchange student. 2012.  
THE COOL CATS SHOW, an animated film where performers interact with animated characters on a screen (in honour of Winsor McCay's Gertie the Dinosaur from 1914). It is also homage to the history of animation, starting as a black and white vaudevillian act and becoming a full colour 'modern' animation.

Martin Snopek was born on November 13, 1974 in Bratislava. He studied Animation on Film and Television Faculty, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. His diploma film Everyday Grazing was awarded among others also by the main student prize on Animafest Zagreb. Two of his short films were distributed in cinemas in Slovakia as pre-films. Besides the directing he works as a graphic designer and teacher.

Ivana Laučíková was born on October 12, 1977 in Partizánske. She studied Animation on Film and Television Faculty, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and nowadays she’s teaching there. In 2006 she established a production company feel me film and debuted as a producer with an animated short by Ivana Šebestová Four. She’s a founder and editor in chief of a magazine about animated film Homo Felix.

Stephen Irwin is a graduate of Central St. Martin’s College of Art & Design. His film 'Moxie' was awarded the Grand Prize at the Ottawa International Animation Festival 2011, and 'The Black Dog's Progress' won Best Short Film at the British Animation Awards 2010. He has received commissions from the UK Film Council & Film London, BBC New Talent/Warp Films and Animate Projects/Arts Council England, and Channel 4. His films have been screened in competition at festivals all over the world, including Sundance, Annecy, Zagreb, Edinburgh, Ann Arbor and Clermont-Ferrand. He was named as one of Animation Magazines Rising Stars of Animation 2009.

Vladimir Leschiov , Kaspar Jancis
Vladimir Leschiov was born 1970, in Daugavpils, Latvia. Graduated from Riga Art School in 1989. Worked as illustrator, designer and director at several video production companies in Latvia since 1992. Studied animation at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Sweden, where his first two films where produced. After several years of working in different animation film studios, the decision was made to create his own working space. Thus in 2007, Vladimir established his own company Lunohod. It is named in honour of the first robot-moonwalker "Lunohod-1" who accomplished his amazing journey on the surface of the Moon the same year that Vladimir was born. In addition to filmmaking, he has been a lecturer of animation at the Art Academy of Latvia since 2005.

Kaspar Jancis was born 1975 in Tallinn, Estonia. His first moving pictures came to life in the corners of his school notebooks. He has been part of the creative core of several rock groups by writing song lyrics, making arrangements and creating tunes. Kaspar Jancis enrolled at the Tallinn Pedagogical University in 1996. In 1997, he transferred from the Pedagogical University to the Turku Arts and Media School in Finland to study animation under the guidance of Priit Pärn. There he made his debut film “Romance” in 1999.

Born in 1979 in Split, Croatia. Graduated in 2003 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Department of Painting. In 1998 starts working professionally with computer graphics, since 2003 works with Lemonade Productions on development of computer games. Co-founder of Lemonade3D, studio for 2D and 3D graphics and animation; also teaches at the Arts Academy in Split.

Chinese, born on July 26th, 1983. She practices Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy since childhood. Hefang attended the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in China. She obtained her degree with honors for four years studies. After a professional experience in a studio in Beijing, she decided to come to France. Hefang graduated from the International School La Poudrière (Valence, France). She made three short films:
- Chant des klaxons
- A moi (Jury Prize Canal J, Espoirs de l'Animation, International Animation Film Festival of Annecy 2010)
- Chronicles of the bridge (her graduation film) was screened in many international festivals. She obtains the SACD Award for Best French Animated Film (International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand, 2011) and several other awards. This film was broadcasted on RTP2, Portugal.
While directing films, Hefang works for feature films, short films and series productions as a story-boarder, animator, background designer, layout man and composer.

An artistic animated short-film adapted from the famous German 'Gothic' fairy-tale
'The Cold Heart' by Wilhelm Hauff: A 'Faustian' tale in the Black Forest, the films tells the
story of a young man who trades his warm heart for a cold stone in order to become rich.
A magical story, which narrates his encounters with the good and evil spirits of the forest.
Directed by Hannes Rall in his highly expressionistic style it also features the color-design
 by famous animation-designer Hans Bacher.
